POLICIES & REGULATIONS

GENERAL PURPOSE FOR YOUR BEING AT SOUTHEASTERN LOUSISIANA UNIVERSITY:
  • To participate and assist our baseball program in winning the Southland Conference Championship and taking our program to the highest level possible, OMAHA!! While being team oriented it shall allow you to support to help reach individual goals as well. With hard work, determination, and ability an opportunity to play at the next level will be possible for some.
  • Get an education and graduate from Southeastern Louisiana University.
  • To develop lifelong friends in a positive atmosphere, both on and off the baseball field.

AS BASEBALL COACHES, IT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ASSIST YOU IN THE ABOVE BY PUTTING YOU IN AN ENVIRONMENT TO BE SUCCESSFULL BOTH ACADEMICALLY AND ATHLETICALLY WHETHER YOU ARE SUCCESSFUL OR NOT IS UP TO YOU!
 
TEAM POLICIES TO INSURE THE ABOVE:
  • You will be required to dress properly around the campus as you represent yourself and the baseball program.
  • There will be no beards or mustache. You must have a clean shave every day. The only thing to trump it will be a record TEAM GPA. Former Record GPA is 3.23!
  • Sideburns may come down to the bottom of the earlobe and must be groomed.
  • There will be no body piercing of any type at any time.
  • No dyed hair or hair dos that will bring undo attention to yourself.
  • Hair must be neat and no longer than your collar.
  • ONLY SOUTHEASTERN HATS may be worn around campus or locker room. Hat must be removed from head anytime you go indoors.
  • Your spikes and equipment must be clean for every game.
  • You will attend class regularly and on time. If you are found to miss class without prior approval from the head coach, you may forfeit your scholarship and/or position on the team.
  • All players are to sit in the front three rows of each class.
  • You will not use any class assignment or exam preparation as an excuse to miss practice unless it is direct conflict with the practice session. You will prepare yourself for assignments/exams over the entire semester, no on the last day. It’s important you learn how to manage your time.
  • No assistance will be provided to any baseball player if it’s found that academic difficulties were due to the fact that you have missed class or lack of effort.
  • You will be expected to conduct yourself in a first class manner around campus and in the community. Conduct yourself in a manner in which you will never embarrass our baseball program or university.
  • Know before entering any coaches/ office. If you see one of the coaches with a recruit or visitor, stop and introduce yourself to the person.
